I have a Toshiba laptop myself, so I know how their pre-installed software can tell you that you need to do these things. You didn't mention any problems, so I can only assume you aren't having any. Just be sure you have good antivirus software and keep it up to date. You should also give consideration to how you're going to back your system up so when the inevitable malfunction of one sort or another hits, you're not hit with a bigger disaster than need be. I have to tell you that before I read your post, I'd never heard of Insydeflash.

I did a Google search to find out what it does. If you have questions about it, you could ask Toshiba. You could do a full system scan with your antivirus program, if you suspect it's not on the up and up. My experience with Toshiba has been pretty good - far from perfect, but among the better ones.
