Sunday, Apr 01, 2012 at 17:32The issue will be the license type, CB radios will be covered buy what is called a type license similar to what you need for the barrett to operate on VKS737 channels. The type license specifies the type of transmission, the power level, the frequencies and if a operator license is required, ie a licensed ham can use the barrett to transmit on amature frequencies, a person with a type license for VKS737 can not legally. The sellers will enable amature frequencies for a ham operator but not for general user. You will not be able to get a type license for the barrett. Cheers LeighW.
Wednesday, Apr 04, 2012 at 20:27Thank you for all of your replies, it is very much appreciated. I don't think there would be much advantage over having 1-40CH AM/SSB with transmit anyway, I don't think many people use the 27mhz frequencies anymore in the 1-40 range. I can make them receive only frequencies on the radio itself but transmit does not work when programming it via the panel. Reading the manual it shows you can programme a RX and TX frequency into the radio, but when doing it no matter what frequency it isn't possible.? Kaznj russkih soldat v chechne vikipediya. Why does it differ on the manual to the radio does anyone know?
